D’FUSION
D’FUSION is a real time visual software that makes it possible to make
augmented reality with standard PC computers provided with one or more
video input, the whole with performances and high level quality of
images.
D’FUSION handles, in real-time, animated virtual objects
either static (with respect to the real world), or dynamic (objects that
follow pre-recorded trajectories, or that are associated to a motion
capture sensor). D’FUSION is fully compatible with the standard motion
capture sensors.
Software Functionalities:
- 3D data import: D’FUSION is compatible with many CAD
formats, either directly, or by specific interfaces.
- Mixing of the 3D objects and of the real video with the following
calibration functionalities: corrections of optical distorsions from the
camera, corrections of the distorsions of the motion capture sensors.
- Dedistortion of the video (to correct the optical distortion), or
distortion of the 3D virtual objects (to register the 3D objects with
the distorted video).
- The 3D virtual objects can be positioned in real world: one can film for
example a real landscape with virtual buildings in it, or mobile objects
(cars, planes, boats…) integrated in a real landscape.
- State-of-the-art graphical functions: anti-aliasing, texturation,
transparencies, animations, mobile sources of lights, deformations.
- Gravitational behavior of the objects (throws of objects , bounces,
realistic trajectories).
- Real-time handling of occlusions between reality and virtuality (with
the Z-buffer capabilities).
- Generation of real-time images from 50 to 60 frames per seconds,
depending on the video standard of the camera.
- Interpolation / extrapolation of the datas to handle all possible
frequencies of the motion capture systems.
- Non-linear image mapping (reprojection on any 3D surface, for example, a
cylindrical screen).
D’FUSION technology is currently used by PSA, RENAULT, EADS, HOOVER,
ORION, PROCTER & GAMBLE. |
