Fluid dynamics is an important issue for product design in many areas. The traditional way of dealing with fluid dynamics is using experiments on physical prototypes. Experimental activities need a heavy investment in a testing facility for example a wind tunnel. Added to this comes the cost of building every prototype to be tested. It’s easy to measure the fluid induced forces on the prototype but collecting information about the entire flow field is very time consuming and require state of the art experimental techniques.
