The OKTAL Synthetic Environment company is a french SME working for more than 15 years in the field of multi-sensor simulation and synthetic environment modeling for the military and civilian markets. The company is the European leader in its doamin and has recognized expertise in visual, infra-red and electromagnetic synthetic environment simulation and modeling. This has been achieved with the help of large industrial programs and prestigious partnerships with high level scientific institutions (DGA, ONERA, ISL, FOI, FGAN, DLR, DSO, ...) and in the frame of international projects.
In the frame of its software on the shelf development, two major suite of tools have been put together for infrared signal generation and electromagnetic data modeling based on the SE-Workbench concept.

 

SE-Workbench software concept
Visible, infrared and electromagnetic sensor systems are usually difficult to simulate due to the complexity of the required synthetic environment modelling. The SE-Workbench suite of tools enables to create as realistic as possible synthetic descriptions of multispectral environments.

The SE-Workbench principle is based on the priority to the physical accuracy of the 3D database and to the physical material characterization of visible textures. The usage of ray-tracing and 3D graphic board techniques for the scene analysis enables the generation of high quality scenes of complex scenarii.

    SE-Workbench-IR
    The SE-Workbench-IR (part of the SE-Workbench general solution) is an efficient and professional workshop for infrared synthetic environment data generation, analysis and simulation already used in many industrial programs. The SE-Workbench-IR provides a coherent and physically accurate way of simulating the sensor perception of synthetic environments in visible and infrared (IR).

    The software catalogue of the SE-Workbench-IR solution is separated in 2 different public EDITIONS. The editions are packages of software dedicated to different levels of operational needs. The EDITIONS are described as follow:

  • SE-Workbench-IR STANDARD: first approach to infrared simulation with functions answering to real operational needs of simulation.
  • SE-Workbench-IR ADVANCED: a complete setup for infrared advanced simulation including APIs and libraries for an integration in a customer environment.

     

    SE-Workbench-EM
    The SE-Workbench-EM (part of the SE-Workbench general solution) is an efficient and professional workshop for electromagnetic synthetic environment data generation, analysis and simulation already used in many industrial programs. The SE-Workbench-EM provides a coherent and physically accurate way of simulating the electromagnetic waves interactions and generate accurate signal. The SE-Workbench-EM is based on state of the art standards for tools and API development to ease the software integration in user-designed applications.

    The software catalogue of the SE-Workbench-EM solution is separated in 2 different public EDITIONS. The editions are packages of software dedicated to different levels of operational needs. The EDITIONS are described as follow:

  • SE-Workbench-EM STANDARD: first approach to radar simulation with functions answering to real operational needs of RCS simulation (Radar Cross Section).
